CEO NEO Finance
1.
About Trust & Regulation
NEO Finance operates under the supervision of the Bank of
Lithuania – what does that mean in practical terms for an investor
from the Netherlands?
Fully licensed & supervised entity. NEO Finance, AB is listed by
the Bank of Lithuania as an electronic money institution (unlimited
licence), P2P platform operator, consumer credit provider, and a
listed issuer. This puts the company under ongoing prudential and
conduct supervision (fit-and-proper, capital, reporting, audits, AML,
complaints handling).

How does NEO Finance ensure the safety of investors’ funds,
especially in times of economic uncertainty?
Two different “pots” to separate clearly:
Client money used for payments/e-money (top-ups, balances,
transfers):
- Safeguarded & segregated. EU/Bank of Lithuania rules require EMIs to keep client funds separate from company funds in safeguarding accounts at an EU credit institution or invest them in secure, liquid, low-risk assets. This is designed to be insolvency-remote from the platform. Lietuvos bankas
- Ongoing oversight. These arrangements are part of the licence conditions and are supervised by the Bank of Lithuania. Lietuvos bankas
Investments in loans (P2P assets):
- Structured under Lithuanian P2P regulation. NEO Finance is on the Bank of Lithuania’s list as a P2P operator; the law sets entry, conduct and disclosure requirements. Credit risk remains with investors, but platform operations are regulated. Lietuvos bankas
- Risk-mitigation features. NEO Finance offers optional tools like a Buyback service (a+ 100 % grąžiname, kitiems reitingams skirtingi koeficientai nuotraukoje matosi)to reduce loss severity on defaults (at a cost). These are contractual platform features, not a guarantee by a state scheme. neofinance.com+1
- Business continuity. The company publishes continuity and risk policies (e.g., conflict-of-interest policy; continuity plan), indicating procedures for operational resilience
- What if Russia attacks Lithuania?
Geopolitical context (brief): Lithuania is an EU & NATO member;
any attack would trigger EU/NATO mechanisms, but markets could face
disruption. (This is a macro risk rather than a platform-specific
one.)
Operational & financial implications for investors to understand:
- Safeguarded client money: By EU rule, safeguarding accounts must be with an EU credit institution and may be in Lithuania or another EU Member State. Segregation aims to protect client balances from the platform’s creditors even in stress. However, short-term payment rails (e.g., local clearing) could be disrupted in an extreme scenario, which may delay access/settlement even if funds remain segregated. Lietuvos bankas
- P2P loan assets: Your loans are claims on Lithuanian borrowers. In a war scenario, credit performance and collections could deteriorate; courts/enforcement may slow; recovery values could drop. Optional protection features (e.g., buyback) depend on the platform’s ability to perform under stress and are not sovereign guarantees. neofinance.com
- Regulatory stance & continuity: The Bank of Lithuania supervises EMIs/P2P operators and sets business-continuity expectations; NEO Finance publishes continuity/risk documents. Yet force-majeure risks (infrastructure, sanctions, banking connectivity) cannot be fully eliminated.
- Serveriai yra ne LT, tas leidžia užtikrinti, jog platforma “nepaluš”. IT infrastructure is located in Germany (master) and in Lithuania (slave) to ensure the business continuity of the platform itself and all the IT services.

Are there specific loan categories or risk levels that you would
recommend for beginners who are just starting to invest?
Start conservative. For new investors, we recommend starting with A
and B rated loans, which represent borrowers with stronger credit
histories and stable income.
These categories offer lower volatility and still competitive returns
of around 5–7% annually.
Use the Auto-invest tool to diversify automatically across hundreds
of loans — this helps minimize exposure to any single borrower.
Once you gain confidence and experience, you can gradually add
C-rated loans or small portions of Buyback-protected loans to raise
yield.
Key principle: Diversify widely, reinvest repayments, and monitor
performance monthly.
3. About
the Platform Itself
What makes NEO Finance different from other European crowdfunding
platforms?
Licensed as an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) –
supervised directly by the Bank of Lithuania (EU-level
licence, passported across the EU) with Full in-house
infrastructure.
- This allows us to safeguard investors’ money under strict EU e-money rules — unlike most P2P platforms that rely on third-party payment partners.
- NEO Finance manages borrower onboarding, credit scoring, loan servicing, payment processing, and recovery internally.
- No outsourcing — meaning faster decisions, higher data accuracy, and better control of risk.
Transparency & public listing.
- NEO Finance, AB is a public company listed on Nasdaq Baltic, audited annually, and publishes financial results openly.
- Investors can verify both the company’s financial health and performance metrics.
Track record & experience.
- Operating since 2015, with over €250M+ in loans funded and thousands of active investors.
- Proven resilience through different economic cycles (COVID, inflation, interest rate changes).
Optional Buyback & protection mechanisms.
Unique to NEO Finance’s model — investors can select the Buyback
service, which repurchases defaulted loans after a defined delay
period, improving cash flow stability.
- Could you explain how the Auto Invest function works and how much control investors still retain when using it?
Auto Invest is designed to make investing efficient, diversified, and data-driven, while keeping the investor in full control.
How it works:
Investor sets the rules.
- Choose your preferred risk categories (A–C), interest rate range, loan term, buyback option, and maximum amount per loan.
The system executes investing actions automatically following set
investor rules.
- Whenever a new loan matching your criteria appears, the system invests instantly — no need to log in daily or compete with others for availability.
You stay in control.
- You can pause, edit, or delete your Auto Invest strategy anytime.
- You can also manually invest in specific loans if you wish.
Diversification advantage.
- Auto Invest typically allocates across hundreds of borrowers, reducing risk concentration and ensuring more stable long-term re
4. About
Long-Term Vision
- How do you see the future of P2P lending in Europe, and what role does NEO Finance aim to play in that future?
The European P2P market is entering a maturity phase.
Regulation is increasing, investors are demanding more transparency,
and platforms need to show sustainable, compliant growth rather than
just high returns.
We aim to be among the top regulated P2P platforms in Europe, known
for trust, transparency, and risk discipline.
With our electronic money institution licence, we can bridge the gap
between traditional finance and fintech investing — providing
investors with secure access to consumer credit returns.
The focus is on steady, long-term profitability, not speculative
growth.
- Will NEO Finance develop an app in the future?
Yes, in the near future.
